A Message from the Vultures

Looking Back on 2025

As we close out an incredible year of growth and community, we are excited to take a moment to reflect on what we have been working toward and what this year has meant for the Vultures. From expanding our presence on the field to deepening our commitment to supporting students and building opportunity through sport, each milestone has played a role in shaping who we are becoming. This past year brought challenges, lessons, and moments of pride that pushed us to grow in ways we did not expect, and we are grateful for everyone who has been part of that journey. As we look ahead, we are energized by what is still to come and inspired by the community that continues to move with us into the future.

Look Out for 2026

As Vultures reflects on a successful 2025, we are excited to share what we have been building and what is ahead. This year included awarding the first Dafne Scholarship, hosting our second annual tournament, and continuing to grow our men’s and co ed teams on the field. We are looking forward to 2026 and cannot wait to bring the next chapter of Vultures to our community.

Tournament 2 Recap

Our second annual Vultures Tournament brought together 10 teams for a day of competitive soccer, community, and purpose in support of first generation EOF students. The event raised funds for the Dafne Scholarship at Ramapo College while celebrating both returning champions and first time winners. Thank you to everyone who played, attended, and helped make Tournament 2 a success.

Dafne Scholarship’s First Recipient

In May, Vultures co founder Julio Sarmiento awarded the first Dafne Scholarship at the Ramapo Scholarship Reception to support first generation EOF students at Ramapo College. The inaugural award was given to social work senior Aaliyah Marte as she prepares to pursue her master’s degree and continue serving her community. About Us

Vultures Sporting Club was founded in 2024 with the mission to create community in an array of sports while simultaneously raising awareness for causes that benefit future generations. We primarily work with creating opportunities for college students from historically disproportionate communities and giving them a chance to take another step towards becoming professionals in their fields.

Vultures Sporting Club is in the process of fielding many teams and athletes in the coming months and will remain vocal to sharing our progress.

Mission Report

Vultures Sporting Club was founded in 2024 with the mission to build community through sports while creating meaningful opportunities for future generations. The club focuses on supporting college students from historically underrepresented communities by providing pathways toward professional growth and using sports as a platform to raise awareness for causes such as First Gen EOF scholarships, cancer research, and other initiatives aligned with our values. Through soccer, volleyball, pickleball, running, and community driven events, we field teams and athletes who share our commitment to inclusion, impact, and positive change both on and off the field.
