Second Dafne Scholarship Recipient

In May, Vultures co-founder, Julio Sarmiento, attended the Ramapo Scholarship Reception. During this even he was able to meet and have a conversation with the 2026 recipient of the Dafne Scholarship which was founded by Julio to provide First Generation Educational Opportunity Fund students at Ramapo College a boost towards their degrees and future goals. The scholarship is named on behalf of Julio’s mother and is a way to give back to the college and the EOF program which assisted Julio with achieving his goals during his college career.

This year's awardee is Isabella Taveras. She is a junior nursing student who is looking to use the award to complete her bachelors degree and become a nurse who makes a difference. The student shared an amazing story of overcoming adversity and manages to do it all while always keeping a positive attitude and wearing a smile at all times. We wish Isabella the best of luck in her future endeavors and hope that her future continues to be met with amazing opportunities and endless success.

This award was able to be provided to students like Isabella due to the consistent support of people who believe in the Vultures mission and align with the activities and the events that the Vultures produce. The Vultures tournament will take place on July 25th this year which is an event that not only gives players and supporters a place to enjoy the beautiful game but also raises funds for the scholarship.

We hope to continue to inspire people to support a cause greater than themselves and we hope to continue to provide for the community that produces amazing talent and great prospects.
